HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) was appointed to four House committees for the 2021-22 Legislative Session. His committee assignments are Aging and Older Adult Services, Game and Fisheries, Gaming Oversight, and Labor and Industry.

“These four committees will all focus on issues that are important to myself and my district,” said Davanzo. “I am excited to get to work serving on each one.”

The Aging and Older Adult Services Committee will focus on issues targeted to the age 60 and over population, long-term care, adult day care, elder abuse, senior community centers and more. “Making sure our older citizens have the care and resources they need is vital,” said Davanzo. “They spent their whole life contributing to their community in one way or another. It’s a disservice to not ensure a comfortable life for them as they age.”

While serving on the Game and Fisheries Committee, Davanzo and his colleagues will tackle legislation affecting the Fish and Boat Code and the Game Code.

The Gaming Oversight Committee will address the Bingo Act; Gaming Act; Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board; casino, tavern and online gaming; fantasy sports and sports betting; and more.

While serving on the Labor and Industry Committee, he will address issues with unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, child labor law, Civil Service Act, apprenticeship and job training, and more. “I am eager to serve on this committee as we saw several labor and industry issues in 2020 that we can address in these meetings,” said Davanzo.

“Last year was a year of struggles. I’m looking forward to working on these committees and making sure 2021 is better for our Commonwealth,” concluded Davanzo.
