Davanzo: Local Projects Get Boost from Grants
December 18, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) today announced that more than $4 million in Local Share Account grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority for projects within the 58th Legislative District.
Local Share Account grants support economic development, job training, community improvement and public interest projects through gaming funds generated at Pennsylvania casinos. The CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development. It distributes funding through several programs dedicated to economic growth.
“These grants represent much-needed improvements in local communities. Every local government has a list of needs that is outside their budget, so this is a great use of gaming monies that will better equip local governments to respond to their residents,” said Davanzo. “Sen. Kim Ward certainly played a big part in getting these grants across the finish line and I appreciated working with her.”
Entities receiving grants include:
• City of Monessen, $614,529, for public works equipment and four first response vehicles.
• Mount Pleasant Borough, $442,750, repairs to the public works salt shed.
• Mount Pleasant Township, $187,191, for street surface improvements.
• North Belle Vernon Borough, $400,000, to renovate a soccer field in the North Belle Vernon Community Bank Park.
• North Huntingdon Township, $650,000, to replace the Woodside Drive Pump Station.
• Rostraver Township, $250,000, for public works equipment, construction of an ADA-compliant restroom building and a pavilion at the DiVirgilio Sports Complex.
• Rostraver Township Sewage Authority, $250,000, for renovations at the Pollock Run Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Sewickley Township, $221,598, for upgrades to the township’s swimming pool.
• Smithton Borough Municipal Authority, $265,000, inspection and cleaning of system-wide sewer lines.
