House Republicans: Gov. Shapiro Must Not Appeal RGGI Decision

The Belle Vernon Area Football Team was recognized for winning the 2022 PIAA Class AAA Championship in Harrisburg Wednesday. Players and coaches had an opportunity to meet Pennsylvania State Reps. Eric Davanzo and Ryan Warner, as well as Pennsylvania Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward. The Leopards beat Neumann-Goretti 9-8 in December to win the school’s first PIAA football championship.

Davanzo Sponsors Legislation to Ensure Fair Royalties Between Natural Gas Companies and Landowners

HARRISBURG – Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-Westmoreland) has sponsored legislation that would define what natural gas companies can and cannot deduct from landowners. Pennsylvania currently has a Guaranteed Minimum Royalty Act, enacted in 1979, that stipulates that natural gas companies must pay landowners at least one-eighth of the value of the gas harvested from their property. However, industry standards and lack of clarity in the law has led to some landowners receiving less than a one-eighth royalty payment. House Bill 1763 would clarify how royalty payments are calculated.
